Information for Interested Trip Leaders
The S.E.R.V.E. Program is always look for student leaders interested in proposing and then guiding service trips over the winter, spring or summer breaks. If there is a location you would like to take a team, shoot us a quick email via our contact page or attend one of our interest sessions. The possibilities are endless and we hope you get involved!
Trip Leader Responsibilities:
1. Planning the Trip
-Selection or location and service site/organization
-Creating a daily itinerary
-Creating a budget (see how-to-guide for budget creation); and comparison paperwork for lodging & airfare (if applicable)
2. Preparing for the trip
-Planning/holding two team meetings prior to departure with your team
-Attending required participant workshop & risk management workshop
-Submitting your own trip payment(s) on time
-Attending the trip leader/advisor meeting
3. Leading the trip
-working with advisor(s) to lead the trip and facilitate service/sight-seeing activities
-leading daily reflections (booklet provided) each evening
4. Submitting pictures & assessment post-event to help with marketing and implementation of future S.E.R.V.E. trips
Did You Know?!
1. Trip Leaders are compensated with a $100.00 discount on the trip cost for the trip they are leading
